Though it'd be a good idea to discuss the forthcoming poker night, which i'm sure we all want to be a success.

A few random thoughs occured to me:

1) If we've got 3 tables going, I think it'd be a good idea if a non-player is responsible for anouncing when the blinds go up - This could be marked buy a ring of the bell (I like it!)

2) If we're encouraging non league players to come down - What do we do if they wanna join the league for good - This could happen.

It's held over the Easter weekend (with bank holidays either side).
This could result in a low turnout - I even think i'll be away that weekend - Bugger!

Good points Chris. Lisa and I will be there, and from next week on we should push this event on the SLT site and to people we see. Even 15 players would be enough for a three-table situation and I am sure we will get more than that.

I like the bell idea.

If anyone wants to join us for our regular games then I have no objection provided that a) they can play b) they are aware how far behind they will be in the league and c) they don;t take our place ie us regulars should have first dibs on a seat each week. i think we should keep our current league at a max of ten per week.

We might have to have on-line satellites to win a seat in the weekly game!

Oh, I had another idea.

Perhaps we could get another poster up (along with the one that shows all the winning hands) that shows a list of poker lingo, so we could encourage folk to talk like poker cowboys.

I'll try to write a list of the jingo I see used on the gutshot poker site. I have to admit that I have absolutely no idea what any of it means, but it'll be fun trying to say it.

He certainly doesn't! Only a very fortunate deal and flop for me in the final 'heads-up' on Saturday denied him a chance of ultimate victory!

Many thanks to Anton for organising a fun night. (And to be wary of the pocket rockets that backfired!)
