I think the idea of only your bext xx results counting is a good one. Don't know how many xx should be.
There's good incentive to keep coming back, even if you are riding high in the table, while not penalising those who can only attend infrequently. It also implies a 'minimum number' of games to be played if you want to be competitive.
It could also throw up some interesting situations at the end of the season (whenever that is). eg Hamlet needs a third place or better to overtake Othello in the table - fourth or worse is no good to him.
Cheers,

Enjoyed bullying Anton on Friday.
Just a quick thing - would there technically be any licensing implications for playing in the bar and putting money into a pot? Eg a pub needs a licence for a fruit machine. |

And until recently we had a licence for a fruit machine but doubt we do now. I think there's a difference, law-wise, between paying a subscription or "entrance fee" (like most quizzes), rather than playing for a cash prize, but don't ask me what it is. My brother might be the one to approach for info ... |

I don't think paying to play can be construed as gambling. However, if a prize is paid out each time we play then we could be straying slightly over a fine line. It might be as well to restrict 'on-the night' prizes to home games. |

That was me, by the way. Why do I keep having to log-in again to get my name to appear? |

i agree with matthew
the odd pound for a quick second game is ok, but we should keep cash games per se out of the bar
i think the gaming act changed on this in the last few years so not actually sure of current legal situation. |
